CCNA Abilities

The individual that successfully completes their CCNA certification should be capable of troubleshooting a variety of issues including:

  • Internetworking basics, starting with the seven layers of the OSI model, and progressing into the structures of Local Area Networks (LAN’s) and Wide Area Networks (WAN’s)
  • Cisco router Command Line Interface (CLI), Cisco router configuration, and major routing protocols such as link state, distance vector, and hybrid protocols.
  • TCP/IP protocol, including the use of hostnames, network and subnet addresses, and the major classes of IP address ranges.
  • Understand and implement major WAN technologies, including Frame relay, ISDN, HDLC, and PPP.
  • Improve network performance by segmenting LAN’s using bridges, routers, and switches.
