There are countless reasons for people to go to college after they complete high school. The number one reason is clearly the increased earning potential they will have upon college graduation. U.S. Census Bureau researchers have found that bachelor degree graduates earn over 80% more that high school graduates. This is a huge margin when you consider the cost of living increase one experiences over their lifetime like raising children, home purchase, vehicle purchases and other expenses. Those are just some of the tangible differences between high school graduates and college graduates that will affect their quality of life for the entirety of their lives. Some of the less tangible but equally significant advantages of obtaining a college degree include self-confidence, a sense of accomplishment, a widened knowledgebase and invaluable future networking relationships.

A very important thing to consider when searching for and enrolling in online college degree programs is the transferability of credits earned. It is extremely frustrating for students that think they are close to completing the required course credit hours for a particular degree to find out that their credit will not be valid at another academic institution should they decide to change schools. For example, a student intending to pursue their bachelor degree finding out that even after they have obtained their Associate’s degree from an online or campus college or university, that their credits will not transfer to a bachelor’s degree program at another college or university.
