In the United States, parents, teachers and guidance counselors cannot stress the importance and advantages of students going on to obtain their college degree. There are countless advantages to having a college degree, the most obvious and possibly the most significant reason to earn a college degree is the potential income earnings which shockingly higher than the earnings potential of an individual without a college degree.
Some of the less tangible, but no less important advantages of obtaining a college degree include the personal intellectual enhancement individuals will achieve through the process of acquiring the sklills and knowledge they will learn as they complete their courses towards their degree.
Other important side effects of obtaining a college degree is the sense of accomplishment and the sense of pride for the student’s family. Students also have the opportunity to interact with other students and professors with various perspectives and views about education, study topics and life in general. Many college students form life-long relationships with their classmates and professors.

The University of Phoenix has one of the largest schools with on-campus and internet-based schooling provided. The University has been around since 1976 when Dr. John Sperling founded the college in Phoenix, Arizona.
As of 2008 there are over 250,000 students both undergraduate and post-graduate that attend either on-campus or online-based schooling. The University offers students a wide range of degrees from communications and networking to the visual arts and everything in between.

Capella University is found in Minneapolis, Minnesota providing bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees in the fields of business, technology, education, human services and psychology.
The University has been around since 1993 when it was founded by Stephen Shank who believed he could help educate adults in a field he believed was lacking proper stimulation for adults.

Benedictine University is a privately-held Catholic college based out of Lisle, Illinois and has close relations with the Benedictine Order.
Since 1887 Benedictine University has offered higher-education for adults with a wide range of studies. As of 2008 there are almost 4,000 students currently enrolled who regularly attend and several thousand more who have successfully graduated to become Alumni.
The athletic team, the Eagles, are competing at the NCAA Division 3 level and include any and all sports for students to become involved in.

Ever since 1889, Saint Leo University has remained a private, non-profit, Roman Catholic University that can be found in Saint Leo, Florida.
