How to Have a Winning Interview

If you have just recently earned your college degree, you are ready to hit the working world. You have your best clothes picked out, your resume in hand and are ready to start interviewing for jobs.

One of the first questions you can expect to be asked by a prospective employer is to describe yourself. You should be prepared for this ahead of time so that you do not hesitate when replying. Be sure not to tell them what they already know.

They do not want you to state your name and age, etc but rather are hoping that you will offer them some information about yourself that shows your character and lets them know how motivated you are.

It is best to state your strengths. Tell them what you are good at but be sure also to state any weaknesses you may have. If you appear to be arrogant and cocky, you could very well kill any chances you have of landing the job.

Be honest. Do not brag about how much you can do for their company. Instead, tell them what your skills are and add that you are very confident in your abilities and that you are a fast learner.

Be yourself and give it your best shot. If you do not get a job offer right away, follow up with your interviewer or the HR department. Learn from each interview. Ask what other skills or qualifications would make you the ideal candidate for the position and be sure to add them to your repertoire of skills and your resume.

Reduce Student Loan Debt

It is very hard for many people to pay for college and therefore most students today have to take out student loans in order to earn a college degree.
If you are one of the many students who have taken out a student loan then you will want to pay it off as soon as possible. It is a good idea to set some money aside each month to pay the debt. Do not forget that you have to make the payments on a regular basis or else your debt will go into default status and then you may be forced to make even larger payments than you did in the beginning.

Try to consolidate your federal student loan as a means of paying it off. You can find out more about student loan consolidation by visiting US government websites online.

Even if you have graduated and have not found a job, you will need to pick up some part time employment so that you can make your monthly student loan payments on time. The last thing you want to happen is to allow the debt to spiral out of control. If necessary, seek help from your parents.
