Pros and Cons of Distance Learning

Over the past ten years the internet has been taken by storm as more and more people are signing up for college degree programs online. It is a whole new way to look at higher education.

Some of the advantages to taking online college classes is the great flexibility it offers. If you hold a full time job, you can still study online in your free time. This is an outstanding opportunity for literally thousands of people who have always wanted to attend college but simply did not have the time. Another advantage is that no matter where you live, you can attend online classes. There is no commute to be made so if you live out in the country, it doesn’t matter one bit.

The disadvantages of taking online courses is that you do not get any direct interaction with your instructors. Most of your assignments will be sent via email, so if you feel you need face-to-face interaction, then maybe studying online is not for you.

Learning online can be great for some students and not so great for others. You should carefully consider the pros and cons of distance learning before committing to an online program.
