RN Degree and Career Overview

Being a registered nurse is both rewarding and challenging. Registered nurses make up the majority of workers in the healthcare field today and they hold a position of seniority over LPNs and nursing assistants.

Registered nurses are in high demand today. No matter where you live in the United States, you can bet that you can find a great paying job as an RN in your town or city. Nursing is a ‘recession proof’ career meaning that no matter how poorly the economy is doing, there will always be a high demand for nurses.

A registered nurse is responsible for meeting the needs of his/her patients who are suffering from illness or injury. Registered nurses commonly work in operating rooms, intensive care, doctor’s offices, healthcare clinics and nursing homes.

If you are a natural born caretaker and would like an exciting career in nursing, then you should consider signing up for a registered nursing program in order to earn your certification.

You have the option of earning an associate’s degree in nursing, a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing or a nursing diploma. There are schools all across the US that offer outstanding nursing programs so you only need to choose one that suits your needs.
