The Working Adult and College Schedules
Many colleges and universities are catering to the working adult, but unfortunately not enough are getting on board. Colleges offer flexible class schedules and distant learning options, so earning a college degree is well within reach of most adults these days.
The schools who offer the most appealing programs are usually private schools and technical colleges. Not all public colleges offer conveniences to the working person. Classes are sometimes not available that fit into a busy work schedule, and classes are not always offered online.
This leaves working adults little choice but to attend the smaller and more expensive technical and private schools. It is hardly worth all the effort, considering the large debt they will rack up after finishing these expensive programs.
There are over 70 million adults in the United States who wish to go back to school. It is hard to understand why the more affordable public universities are not trying to tap into this market. This is something that should change so that all adults who wish to earn college degrees may do so.
