To Degree or Not to Degree

There are many reasons and obstacles that may interfere with an individual pursuing their college degree but it is unquestionably more beneficial to individuals and society for a better-educated environment. Researchers have determined that a bachelor’s degree is worth more than $2.1 million over 40 years. According to a study conducted by the U.S. Department of Labor, all seven of the job categories that are expected to grow faster than average during the next decade require a college degree. These careers will make up about 42% of the projected job growth through 2013 and will be in the education, healthcare and technology industries.
