With the emerging popularity of online learning, many people do not automatically think of a college campus with its library, classrooms and student activity center when they are asked to describe higher education.
During the past fifty years, enrollment in the nation’s colleges and universities has swelled to an impressive 17 million students. More and more people are aware of the many benefits that are associated with earning a college degree.
The best undergraduate education requires more than interaction in the classroom. It involves the community, social clubs, faculty and student events and athletic events that brings a whole community together.
Earning a college degree online without receiving the full experience takes the rich spirit out of a college education. A lifelong fire of learning should be sparked and kept aflame on an actual physical campus, but with the changing times, maintaining this fire is being done from a distance.
